Christophe Beck Returning To Score ‘Ant-Man & The Wasp’
As more news and information about Marvel’s upcoming sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp is
on the way, one of the contributors to the first film will be returning
for more of the fun. On Twitter, director Peyton Reed confirmed that
composer Christophe Beck will return to score the sequel.
Beck won an Emmy for his work on Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Some of Beck’s previous scores include Reed’s directorial debut, Bring It On, The Muppets, Frozen, Muppets: Most Wanted, Edge of Tomorrow, The Peanuts Movie and Trolls.
Beck also composed the score for Pixar’s newest animated short film Lou, which was attached to Cars 3. Later this year, American Made starring Tom Cruise will feature a score by the composer.
When Edgar Wright was originally attached to write and direct Ant-Man, Academy Award-winner Steven Price was also attached to compose the score. When Wright departed the project, Price also left – leaving Reed and Marvel to hire Beck in Price’s place.
Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne a.k.a. the Wasp, Michael Peña as Luis, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Hannah John-Kamen, and David Dastmalchian as Kurt.
The film is set to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
