Deadline is reporting that actress Maria-Victoria Dragus has
joined the cast of the upcoming period drama “Mary Queen of Scots”. The
film, which also stars Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden, is
written by Beau Willimon and will be directed by Josie Rourke. “Mary
Queen of Scots” “is based on the true story of Mary Stuart (played by
Ronan)’s attempt to overthrow her cousin Elizabeth I (played by Robbie),
Queen of England, only to find herself condemned to years of
imprisonment before facing execution.” Dragus will play “the role of
Scottish noblewoman Mary Fleming, childhood companion of Mary Stuart”.
