“Spider-Man: Homecoming” producer Amy Pascal confirmed ?
While speaking to FilmStarts, “Spider-Man:
Homecoming” producer Amy Pascal confirmed that all future Spider-Man
films, including the upcoming “Venom” and “Silver Sable / Black Cat”
spinoff films (as well as the upcoming Animated Ultimate Spider-Man film
and the two planned sequels to “Spider-Man: Homecoming”) will all take
place inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe! When asked if these upcoming
spinoff films are connected to the MCU, Pascal said the following: “It
will all take place in the world that we are now creating for Peter
Parker. It’ll be adjunct to it, it may be different locations, but it
will all still be in the same world and they will be connected to each
other as well.” As a follow-up, when asked if there was a chance that
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could appear in these upcoming spinoffs, Pascal
simply replied:
“There’s a chance. There’s always a chance.” Pascal’s comments directly contradict a statement previously made by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige (who was sitting next to Pascal when she confirmed “Venom” and “Silver and Black”’s MCU connections) earlier this week, when he told AlloCiné: “For now, there is no plan for Venom in the MCU. It’s a Sony Project.” “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, which stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Chernus, Donald Glover, Hannibal Buress, Laura Harrier, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi, Logan Marshall-Green, Martin Starr, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, Selenium Leyva, Abraham Attah, Tyne Daly, Tiffany Espensen, Garcelle Beauvais, Angourie Rice, Jacob Batalon, Martha Kelly, Jona Xiao, Zendaya, Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr., is directed by Jon Watts and hits theaters on July 7th, 2017. “Venom”, which will star Tom Hardy in the titular role, is written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, directed by “Zombieland”’s Ruben Fleischer and hits theaters on October 5th, 2018. The upcoming Animated Ultimate Spider-Man film, which will feature the voice talents of Shameik Moore and Liev Schreiber, is directed by Bob Persichetti and will hit theaters on December 14th, 2018.
