Deadline is reporting that Tommy Lee Jones is in final talks to join the cast of the sci-fi epic “Ad Astra”. The film, which also stars Brad Pitt and will be directed by James Gray. “Ad Astra” tells of a “slightly autistic space engineer [named] Roy McBride (played by Pitt). Twenty years after his father (played by Jones) left on a one-way mission to Neptune in order to find signs of extra-terrestrial intelligence, McBride travels through the solar system to find him and understand why his mission failed.” “Ad Astra” (which, in Latin, means “to the stars”) was co-written by Gray and Ethan Gross.
