“X-Men: The Dark Phoenix”!

During the latest episode of Meet the Movie Press, host Jeff Sneider reported that Angelina Jolie is being eyed for a role in “X-Men: The Dark Phoenix”! While discussing the future of Universal’s Dark Universe, Sneider revealed that Fox was interested in Jolie for a role in the latest “X-Men” film; although he did cast doubt on her actually taking their offer. Sneider said the following: “I think Angelina Jolie needs to reassert her commercial viability and needs to do a big movie. And If it’s not [pause] ‘Dark Phoenix’, which I don’t think it will be, then I think she should do ‘Bride of
Frankenstein’”. Later, while on Twitter, Sneider reaffirmed that Jolie was unlikely to star in the film and hinted that Fox may also be interested in Jessica Chastain for the mysterious “X-Men” role. Sneider tweeted: “I said on the podcast that I don't think she's going to do it. But... we may get a DISAPPEARANCE OF ELEANOR RIGBY reunion instead ;)” For those unaware, “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” is a 2014 film which Chastain and “X-Men” star James McAvoy stared in. "X-Men: The Dark Phoenix", which will presumably star Sophie Turner, Michael Fassbender, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Lana Condor and James McAvoy, will hit theaters on November 2nd, 2018. Series producer Simon Kinberg, who penned "The Dark Phoenix", is also rumored to direct.
